About Sean Pieri, the Professional

Sean Pieri is an author, speaker, and seasoned leader in institutional advancement and marketing, with a career spanning nearly four decades across higher education, healthcare, and athletics.

He has held senior leadership roles at the United States Air Force Academy, the College of William & Mary, Colorado College, and Driscoll Children’s Hospital, and has served as managing director for the United States Olympic Committee. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at the University of Washington and DePaul University.

He currently consults with non-profit organizations assisting them in achieving their fundraising objectives to fulfill their missions.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in American studies, Sean also earned an MBA from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

About Sean Pieri, the Person

Sean Pieri is a dedicated family man who anchors his life in human connection.

Having grown up with an absent father, Pieri puts his family—wife, Karen, and his children, Reilly and Kyle— at the center of his universe. Recently, Sean and Karen chose to realign their geography with their personal values, relocating to the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin to establish a forever home in close proximity to extended family.

An avid sports enthusiast, Sean spent many years dedicating his personal time to coaching youth soccer, guiding both his son’s and daughter’s teams for a decade, both experiences meaning a great deal to him. Today, he fills his leisure time by exploring his new surroundings in Wisconsin, playing tennis, hiking trails with his dogs, cheering for his beloved Fighting Irish, visiting local microbreweries, and spending as much time with his friends and loved ones as possible.
